"I Santi Quattro Coronati", 4C Church, rebuilt after a fire in 1111 will be your starting point. This spectacular medieval church has the most suggestive cloister and in the Oratory of San Silvestro an incredible set of 13C mosaics. You will then go to the 4C Basilica of St. John in Lateran, the Pope's seat of Rome. Transfer to Trastevere to visit one or two jewels of early Roman churches:S.ta Cecilia with a fresco by Cavallini of the Universal Judgement and S.ta Maria in Trastevere with glittering mosaics of the life of the Virgin also by Cavallini.
