Macugnaga and Monte Rosa
Mount Rosa is the second highest mountain in Europe and a well known ski resort area. The small village of Macugnaga lies at the foot of Mount Rosa and was once famous for its gold mines. On this tour, you will have free time to explore the village and stroll in the meadows to see the wild flowers, then perhaps a "fil de fer" in the local Cafe before returning down the valley and back to Lake Maggiore. This tour is seasonal and operates from mid-April to mid-October only
