See Jenufa at the Sydney Opera House! It's about as close to realism as opera gets, from the shock of violence, down to the concrete labyrinth of Neil Armfield's Eastern bloc setting. And yet, Jenufa is not a tragedy. If anything, this story of a young woman betrayed in the name of respectability is an illustration of how life can and does go on.
